WRS Board Member
Kay Watson has been the Business Manager at Fremont County School District #24 in Shoshoni since June 1992. Prior to that, she worked in private accounting firms and for First Interstate Bank. She loves the diversity of her position, the staff, and the students at Shoshoni Schools. She appreciates that it is an ever-changing role and always very challenging.
She is a Registered School Business Specialist with the Association of School Business Officials International (ASBO). She has served on various committees for ASBO including the Risk Management Professional Committee, the Futures Task Force, and the Certification for Business Managers Committee (SFO). She served in all offices for the Wyoming Association of School Business Officials (WASBO) and currently serves on the WASBO Professional Development Committee as secretary. She also served on the Riverton School Board for four years when her children were going through school.
Kay was named to the Wyoming Governmental Investment Fund (WGIF) Board in 2010 and continues to serve on that board. Kay was born in Alliance, Nebraska. Her family moved to Riverton when she was six months old, so she definitely considers herself a Wyomingite! She graduated from Riverton High School and Central Wyoming College.
She married to the love of her life, Brett, in 1981 and they make their home in Riverton. Together they raised two wonderful kids – Jennifer who lives in Salt Lake City and Scott who lives in Riverton. Kay loves to travel and explore new places.
